Video: Getting Married to Save the Relationship

RELATIONSHIP 911 - GETTING MARRIED TO SAVE THE RELATIONSHIP

Being engaged can be exciting. But what if it felt like you just agreed to it to fix the relationship?

On this episode of Relationship 911, Relationship Coaches Jan and Monika gives us insights on how to solve problems before the wedding even comes.

Monika opens up by saying that weddings often bring forward issues that you need to address. If you are upset all the time during the planning of the wedding, it may be an excellent opportunity to look for the upset underneath the issue.

According to Jan, getting married to solve any problem 'typically' will not solve the problem. What they recommend is separating the wedding itself and the issues you need to work through for you and your partner to be happily married.

If in your heart you feel that the proposal was just a quick fix, don't be afraid to share your concerns with your partner. But don't forget that it's essential to always acknowledge the feelings and the love of your partner before expressing your feelings.

They don't necessarily recommend getting married to solve a problem, but the best way to move forward is to address the main problem that upsets you and the relationship so you can move forward to what matters most.
